Gabby Hillis is an Indigenous speaker, facilitator, and writer based in Kispiox Valley, BC. Her work centres governance, strategic communications, and community trust in First Nations communities. She speaks and facilitates workshops on lateral violence, lateral trust, and what it takes to build governance cultures where people feel safe enough to participate. She also consults with Indigenous organizations on strategic communications, fund development, and governance planning.

Speaking Gabby delivers keynotes and conference presentations on lateral violence, lateral trust, Indigenous governance culture, and what it takes to build communication systems that communities actually trust. Her talks are grounded in lived experience, professional practice, and a deep respect for the rooms she's invited into.

Workshops and Facilitation From half-day breakout sessions to multi-day facilitated processes, Gabby works with First Nations governments, Indigenous organizations, and non-profits on governance communication, lateral trust, and building cultures of trust within leadership teams. Every session is designed for the specific community it serves.

Writing Gabby writes about Indigenous governance, lateral violence, and the relationship between communication and trust in First Nations communities. Her work is available on this site and through select publications. She is currently developing the lateral trust framework: a practice-based model for rebuilding relational trust in Indigenous communities, workplaces, and governance.
